Job Description
Transcriptionist: FT
The Transcriptionist is responsible for inputting a high volume of data from multiple sources into Summit Health’s electronic medical record, ensuring that all necessary data is being entered and maintained. Aside from the primary duty of data entry, many data entry clerks also perform other general office duties.

Essential Job functions:
  • Manages entries to the electronic medical record task throughout the day.
  • Maintains a detailed and organized storage system to ensure data entries are complete and accurate.
  • Enters alerts, discharges, and transfers information in the electronic medical record.
  • Retrieves, processes, and prepares charts for delivery to the Transitional Care Management team.
  • Addresses data inconsistencies by working with the Care Coordination, Clinical Informatic, Data & Analytics and/or IT staff to locate missing data.
  • Adheres to best data management practices and maintaining a high standard of accuracy and efficiency.

General Job functions:
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:
  • High School Graduate/GED required.
  • Minimum 0-1 years of work experience.
  • Ability to multi – task, organize & prioritize workload required.
  • At least 1 year of experience working as a data entry specialist.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to spot errors with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Solid time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent typing skills and experience working with Windows, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical records.
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening community abilities. Communicate appropriately and clearly to staff and providers.
  • Computer literacy, including by not limited to, data entry, retrieval, ability to learn data base platforms, electronic health records, and report generation.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office 365 skills required.
  • Experience with standard office equipment (phone, fax, copy machine, scanner, email/voice mail) required.
  • Ability to work remotely and to work well in a virtual environment.
  • Meet technical requirements to work remotely.

Travel:
  • Travel required for offsite meetings and to clinical offices
