The summary of your role is to administer oral and external medications to residents under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse. Deliver in a safe and efficient manner the highest quality individualized assistance program to all residents.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance and services according to the health care provider’s orders
• Supervise residents who self-administer medication while following company and regulatory guidelines
• Maintain resident records regarding medication distribution and incidents; Observe residents for safety and reports any and all changes in resident condition effectively, accurately, and in a timely manner to LN on duty
• Assisting residents with ADL tasks including but not limited to: assisting with bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, ambulation, transfers, serving and assisting with meals, feeding, housekeeping, bed making, and laundry
• Observe and uphold resident rights at all times; Assist residents to and from meals; Relate to residents in a courteous, empathetic, and cooperative manner.
• Keep environment safe and clean for residents

Physical Requirements:

• Must maintain proper hygiene and be professional in dress and presentation.
• Must be willing to be active and on feet during entire work shift.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in standard English and use own judgment and initiative in daily activities.

Qualifications and Education:

• Successful completion of state certified medication aide/tech course.
• Must possess a current CPR/First Aid certificate and update as needed. - Not Certified? No worries, we can help with this!
• Must be drug free and submit to drug screening upon hire and routinely.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check upon hire and as required by state regulations.
