Cupertino Healthcare & Wellness is seeking a collaborative and resourceful Medical Records Director who is organized, self-motivated, and solution-focused to join our team!

Our organization is currently seeking a Medical Records Director to join our team and provide leadership and direction to our medical staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the medical department, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring that all staff members are properly trained and certified. The Medical Records Director will also be responsible for maintaining quality standards, monitoring patient outcomes, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Purpose: To ensure the privacy and integrity of our residents’ medical records.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Patient reimbursement responsilblities with IDT Team
• Record and process patient medical information.
• Understand the rights and privacy laws surrounding medical files,
• Issuing medical files to persons and agencies according to laws and regulations.
• Helping with departmental audits and investigations.
• Distributing medical charts to the appropriate departments of the SNF.
• Maintaining quality and accurate records by following SNF procedures.
• Ensuring patient charts, paperwork, and reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensuring that all medical records are protected and kept confidential.
• Filing all patients’ medical records and information.
• Supplying the nursing department with the appropriate documents and forms.
• Completing clerical duties, including answering phones, responding to emails, and processing patient admission and discharge records.
• Other relevant duties as assigned

Physical Capacities: (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)

• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
• Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility
• Must be able to stand for and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to lift over 25 pounds with assistance.
• Frequent pushing and pulling of carts, picking up boxes, etc
• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

Environmental Conditions: Inside work, normal inside temperatures, some noise, work- related fumes/odors, possible exposure to bodily fluids, possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
