Sanitas Medical Center is currently seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to join our team. Our medical centers provide services such as primary care, walk-in urgent care, lab, diagnostic, and health care education and resources for our patients. Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons under direction of a physician or nurse in Medical Centers.

• Assist with daily patient flow in areas as needed
• Gives direct patient care and performs indirect patient care activities, under the direction of a physician or nurse
• Takes appropriate action to maintain a safe and aesthetic environment
• Performs EKG and maintain log
• Transports patient to other department by means of wheelchair or stretcher
• Assists physician with examination as required and assists other staff members in providing patient care
• Communicates observations of patient’s status to nurse-in-charge
• Participates in meetings of staff and department meetings
• Checks equipment and supplies prior to use for function, inspection and expiration date; reports malfunction of medical equipment and safety issues to supervisor
• Maintains quality control (i.e. Glucometer, eyewash, refrigerator temperature and autoclave) and cleaning logs as needed for the department
• Complies with Infection Control and OSHA Regulations for the center as per regulations
• Follows medical center guidelines for isolation techniques
• Keeps patients information private and limits conversation of a personal nature in patient’s presence
• Degree of teamwork and cooperation with personnel from other departments
• Maintain logging system for different procedures as required and enter nursing procedures and other information in the computer system
• Check medical records and follow up obtaining missing results prior to patient’s appointment

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent education required
• 1 year in a clinical setting, previous hospital experience and/or physician office experience
• CPR Required
• Medical Assistant Certificate required
• Basic Computer skills
• Customer Service skills and training
• HIPAA testing required
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred
• Able to rotate weekends, holidays, shifts and center location according to company needs
• Must have a National Board Certification. The National Certified Medical Assistant Board are: AAMA, NCCT, AMCA, NAHP, NCMA, AMT.
