FT Day Shift
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide care for the residents in the Assisted Living Facility that meets or exceeds the needs of the residents in accordance to company and regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English
- Current Care Giver Certificate
- Experience in care giving is preferred but not required
- Current and on-going documentation as required by regulatory agencies
- Current First Aid
- Current CPR
- Current T.B. Test
- Current Food Handlers Card
- Current Fingerprint Card
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Clock in and out per scheduled shifts and times.
- Shift to Shift Reporting: In person or by reading the communication log
- Answer telephones timely and professionally, using the following phrase: “Springdale Assisted Living, how may I help you?”
- Review and follow the ADL’s for each resident
- Complete the ADL’s as written in the care plan and ADL book.
- Record when an ADL is completed.
- Transportation of Residents:
- Help transport residents to and from activities and meals.
- Dining/ Food Service
- Room trays must be passed after the dining room is served
- Room trays must be picked-up after the dining room is cleaned.
- Clean out the refrigerators. Throw out food that is not labeled, dated or left in the fridge more than 24 hours.
- Check temperature of refrigerator and record the temperature on the fridge temp log. If the temperature is outside the range report it to maintenance.
- Clean any dishes that need to be cleaned
- Check the dishwasher to make sure there is adequate cleaning agent. If dishes are clean empty the washer. If they are dirty start the washer.
- Wipe down all counters, tables and chairs including the coffee pot and drink dispensers. Sweep and mop the kitchen floors.
- Laundry
- You must assist with laundry on your shift
- If a resident has an accident resulting in soiled linens or clothing, you must complete the laundry.
- Resident Rooms
- Room checks must be completed twice a shift
- Assist in putting away clean laundry
- Assist in cleaning dishes in resident rooms
- Clean room trays and trash as needed
- Keep rooms clean by reporting any issues to maintenance or housekeeping
- Each caregiver is required to complete in-services as required by state regulation and facility policy.
Other Items
- Un-lock the main doors at 6:00 am
- Take out resident and staff trash
- Participate in daily meetings as scheduled
- Assist in activities as needed
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled
- Complete other duties as assigned
