This role will perform a wide variety of routine marketing tasks including project management of diverse marketing assignments that support The Redwood Group’s strategic, organizational and marketing initiatives. This position will work closely with the Senior Marketing Specialist and Marketing Manager and act as primary marketer over designated products or programs for Redwood Credit Union and its subsidiaries.
Essential Functions
- Under the direction of the Marketing Manager and/or Senior Marketing Specialist, administers, coordinates and communicates marketing plans and executes projects. This includes working with stakeholders and agency partners.
- As one of the marketers for Redwood Credit Union and its subsidiaries, responsible for coordinating, executing and supporting a wide variety of marketing efforts such as promotions, advertising, online/website campaigns and content, online marketing efforts, social media posts and promotions, direct mail, newsletter articles, videos, statement inserts, brochures, posters, press releases, Member communications, events, photo shoots, collateral and other marketing and communications for The Redwood Group.
- With support by the Senior Marketing Specialist and/or Marketing Manager, explores media presence options (online, print, radio, etc.)., Includes planning, organizing, negotiating and buying media.
- Working closely with the Senior Marketing Specialist, Marketing Research & Data Specialist, and/or the Marketing Manager, monitors competitive landscape and best practices to identify and drive new ideas.
- Works closely with the Marketing Research & Data Specialist to support team with data sampling, and/or pulling of email or mailing lists to targeted Member segments while maximizing efficiencies and ensuring the protection of our Members’ confidential data.
- Develops & communicates campaign plans and uses post promotional and ROI analysis to refine future projects for increased response rates and efficiency.
- Maintains and supports the enhancement of The Redwood Group’s brands, ensuring effective and consistent use of the names, logos, and other representations of the companies both internally and externally.
- Provides marketing support to internal groups and committees to complete initiatives, long and short term projects, rollout of new programs, etc.
- Participates and contributes to the annual marketing plan and budget.
- Assists in the planning, developing, execution and tracking/monitoring of promotions and other marketing efforts.
Education and Experience
- Relevant experience and knowledge of current marketing techniques and practices and marketing campaigns.
- Knowledge of marketing principles, practices, rules, regulations and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of list management and lead generation techniques.
- Knowledge and skills in technology including online marketing, websites, search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM).
- Knowledge of diverse media and media evaluation & buying/placement.
- Ability to effectively plan and execute multi-step campaigns, projects and events.
- Ability to analyze situations and recommend solutions.
- Proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel & PowerPoint and strong knowledge of website and online tools and resources. Some working knowledge of databases and target marketing platforms, such as Knowledge of and experience with content management systems (CMS), marketing automation platforms and/or database systems preferred.
- Strong communication abilities both verbally and in writing. Strong command of the English language including grammar and punctuation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, English or equivalent preferred, or combination of education and experience equivalent to a 4-year college degree in related field.
- Minimum 2-4 years marketing experience required. Financial institution marketing and/or credit union industry experience preferred. Ability to speak and write Spanish preferred, but not required.
Compensation: Base starting range is $28.00 to 37.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
