Position Summary

The UNM Anderson School of Management is looking for a dynamic student to work with Anderson’s Marketing team to support the overall marketing plan and goals of Anderson. This position will work diligently to advance Anderson’s marketing needs by assisting in the creation of marketing materials and campaigns for the Anderson School, with particular focus on writing clean and engaging copy, social media, web and digital media assets, and newsletter creation and dissemination. This position will play a critical role in contributing to Anderson’s overall presence, both locally and nationally. Additionally, this position will assist in the execution of virtual, on-campus, and off-site events throughout the year.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong work ethic, be dependable, organized, creative, and have a well-rounded background in writing, editing, communications/marketing, graphic design, and social media.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Majoring in Marketing, Communication & Journalism, English, or related discipline
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; writing samples/exercise required
• Proficient in graphic design and/or social media principles
• Knowledge of marketing, public relations, and general communications principles and practices
• Graphic design experience including proficiency with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
• Knowledge and agility with a variety of social media platforms as used for business, particularly Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Sprout Social
• Agility and comfort both in front of and behind the camera
• Understanding of digital marketing concepts, tactics and tools
• Experience with Constant Contact or similar email marketing systems
• Ability to use independent judgment and to gather, manage, and impart information to internal and external audiences
• Knowledge of AP style principles
• Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools
• Availability of approximately 20 hours per week during regular business hours
• Availability to start by May 2023
