You will work both independently and as part of a team. Join us! As a manufacturing engineer, you will research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge production processes. Products supported cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll consult with program management, design engineers, quality, and production teams in order to develop the most efficient and cost effective means of producing our products at the highest level of quality possible. You will be involved in the application of manufacturing technologies and industry best practices during the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle. Your technical duties will involve creating and supporting production procedures and equipment, identify and address deficiencies, implement improvements, develop tooling and fixtures, and review engineering designs for manufacturability.
Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, and Kennedy Space Center, Florida, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations.

Must-haves:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in related engineering discipline and typically 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Basic understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools
- Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams
Preferred:
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Materials, chemistry, and/or lab experience
- Experience working with ISO 9001 and/or AS 9100 standards
- Familiarity with procedure documentation and training development
- Ability to develop and execute process qualification test plans
- Familiarity with process improvement tools (Kaizen, 5S, PFMEA)
- Experience with new product introduction and transition to production
- Knowledge of industry standard design principles, to include, but not limited to, applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5, parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, design for manufacturing
- Participation in dispositions of Non-Conformance generation through a Material Review Board (MRB)

Salary Range: $62,660.05 to $86,157.57
