Wise Staffing is looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer for the Starkville, MS area.

SUMMARY

To develop, maintain, analyze and assist in all traditional Manufacturing Engineering activities, such as processing new components into the manufacturing systems, supporting cost reduction programs, advising the Engineering Department, developing new process justification and participating in new product launches. To support in the transition to World Class Manufacturing processes and techniques. Must have the demonstrated ability to provide production support in areas of safety, quality, throughput improvement, line balancing, engineering problem solving, and cost reduction. Assigned responsibilities may include welding, automation, tooling and fixture design and acquisition, and processing of new parts and assemblies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Participate in cross-functional team environment – supporting plant manufacturing operations including implementation of lean methods within the business.

2. Establish methods and standards for new/changed parts. Work closely with design engineering in developing processes and assist in the development of new products with manufacturing requirements as part of the development process.

3. Analyze, document, investigate and implement corrections for process failures; and initiate and implement cost reductions.

4. Provide leadership and work with other functions to help the plant meet goals in safety, quality, API/TS/ISO, schedule performance, inventory and cost, and participate in a team environment. Other duties may include the need to establish economical manufacturing routings for a wide range of materials and weldments.

5. Develop and implement capital projects to improve material flow, reduce floor space requirements, and reduce costs. Assist in the development of justification for new capital equipment and manage the installation and startup of the new equipment.

6. Provide support and participate in new product launch teams.

7. Select correct tooling for new automated processes. Lead or assist in the design of new or revised tooling to be used in all phases of the manufacturing process, including fabrication, welding, and assembly.

8. Provide production support in areas of safety, quality, throughout improvement, line balancing, tooling engineering, inventory management, and cost optimization.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

4+ years in manufacturing related engineering environment preferred. Preference for welding experience to including: Gas (MIG) and Robotic welding. Education and/or Equivalent Experience

Bachelor degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Agricultural or Mechanical) or a combination of a relevant education and closely related work experience preferred.

Training, Certifications, Licenses, Registrations Training:

Quality Management Sytstem, Safety training as assigned Certification: Certified to weld 3G

Critical Skills Language Skills: Ability to read, write, analyze and effectively present information Mathematical Skills: Intermediate mathematical concepts Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office suite and MS Project Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, draw valid conclusions, interpret and collect data, and draw valid conclusions, strong organizational and planning skills
