Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, collaborates directly with the Director of Student Achievement and Strategic Success (SASS) to ensure day-to-day management and operations for SASS are being met. Assists with implementing strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy amongst all processes and procedures within the SASS unit to support and improve student performance. Provides operational support for interaction with the SASS unit, with a focus on 5 main areas: (1) Supervises the Student Tutors and scheduling for tutoring activities. (2) Assists with digital and non-digital communication campaigns and administration of our student achievement platforms. (3) Maintains student portfolios, which document the support systems utilized by student to support their educational efforts at the University of South Carolina Greenville. (4) Identifies and manages learning spaces and community events scheduled for various student achievement activities. (5) Provides logistical operational support for the SOMG, SASS leadership team. Supports in-person and online programming related student achievement and learning strategies. Oversees the development and implementation of tutorial programs. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications
A master’s degree and 2 years experience in student services programs, or a bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer Master’s degree in related field and four (4) years related experience in a higher education environment and experience directing student programs. Prior managerial experience a plus. Additionally, knowledge of Student Information Systems.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Excellent organizational skills: proficiency in MS Office products and ability to learn other software programs; detail orientated, ability to prioritize information in a timely manner; strong communication skills; written, oral, active listening and interpersonal skills; work effectively in team situations, demonstrate computational ability; ability to multitask; and, ability to respond effectively in a variety of situations. Responsible for duties as assigned relating to internal controls including safeguarding of department assets, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
