The Novelis North America (NNA) team is seeking a Manager, Integrated Planning - Supply Chain Operations. The Manager, Integrated Planning for the Supply Chain Value Stream Cluster provides functional leadership and alignment for the end-to-end demand and supply chain planning. This includes the integrated planning team that handles demand and master planning functions in Atlanta HQ. The position is responsible for (1) ensuring demand and production plans are in alignment, (2) optimizing processes and material flow for production of orders across the end-to-end supply network, and (3) developing and leading improvement plans related to service, inventory, cycle time, and cash flow management.
The incumbent will collaborate with commercial and manufacturing organizations to provide a balanced demand and capacity plan as well as operating direction and coordination for the NNA Value Stream. In addition, they will work daily with the Plant & External Processing Operations, Facility Management, Metal Planning and S&OP team personnel to assure a consistent, balanced, and multidisciplinary view of demand and capacity. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a sustainable supply chain team in a complex environment that involves coordination across different corporate organizations, Value Streams, product lines and operating locations.
- Create meeting inventory objectives (cash flow) while maintaining a high level of customer service during a time where the primary assets for this value stream are booked at full capacity.
- Assure timely and consistent view of operating unit capacities consumed given distributed responsibilities across the supply chain team.
- Align Commercial sales, Demand loading and S&OP capacities in a dynamic business environment
- Develop a Near Term Plan (NTP) that aligns with both, short-term planning system loading and the long-term S&OP
- Optimize end to end process from Sheet Ingot through Delivery to the Customer, including any Tolling (EPO), which may involve multiple Novelis plants and systems.
- Own the definition and updating of system planning parameters such as lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, time fences, choices of heuristics and heuristic parameters.
- Serve as customer concern point for system issues and questions encountered by Facility Planners. Collaborate with Supply Chain Systems Lead to document and request resolution of issues that require IT help (e.g. change requests)
- Lead Demand Planning team to ensure, through booking controls, that the order book follows the NTP and S&OP.
- Responsible for alignment of Commercial sales and its translation into executable requirements in the planning system & S&OP.
- Partner with S&OP team to equitably distribute capacities and finished goods within network-wide constraints
- Work with plants to optimize capacity to meet shipment objectives.
- Partner with plant process/quality engineers to assure master data parameters (e.g. equipment run rates, yields, etc.) for each product spec are complete, accurate and facilitated thru master data management; thus allowing the planning system to accurately reflect equipment capacity consumptions based on product mix.
- Control overall inventory levels and metal positions by Value Stream within specified targets from sheet ingot through order fulfillment. This includes oversight and disposition of surplus/stranded items ensuring targets are met throughout the year. Advance and obtain approval need for inventory target variances (i.e. to cover planned machine down-time)
- Supervise execution of the shipment plan. Proactively respond to deviations using all available levers. Lead and coordinate activities to switch producing plants, incoming stock sources, production flow paths and movement of order due dates to ensure the best possible customer service, enhance shipments and improve metal velocity.
- Implement strategy developed in partnership with Commercial Director which includes compliance to stocking levels, On-time and In-full (OTIF) and Lead Time. Provide expertise and leadership to identify excursions and react in a timely manner
- Provide oversight to mill planners to ensure resolution of issues across Product Line.
- Responsible to deliver the Near-term Plan (NTP) for the Value Stream Cluster monthly.
- Provide resolution to near term planning (NTP) including swinging production between mills, block scheduling/alignment and prioritizations at times of shortages.
- Participate in measurement of key performance measures, financial analysis and improvement plans to drive process improvement throughout the supply chain.
- Handle objectives across the commercial, technical, continuous improvement and manufacturing managers to ensure product line is working to the same objectives and a balanced multidisciplinary integrated plan.
- Work closely with plants in value stream and NNA Logistics team to ensure strategic and tactical needs are met.
- Lead Demand team to help reduce variation within customer forecasts
- Prepare as required for NTP and S&OP and sessions based on defined cadence
- Work with the S&OP team to separate the NTP while keeping the planning horizons connected and aligned
- Maintain all Value Stream Cluster demand/capacity plans for both NTP and S&OP time horizons
- Assure alignment with ongoing commercial, manufacturing and metal dynamics, both internal and external
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or Technical Subject area with exposure to supply chain management
- Over 5-10 years related experience in multinational manufacturing company, similar industry is preferred
- 5 years of experience leading a technical team
- Shown understanding of ERP planning parameters and their interaction in the timely execution of orders
- Shown digital literacy. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
