How you will make an impact:
The Life Sciences and Laboratory Products Group is seeking a Manager, Finance in Carlsbad, Ca. The Manager, Finance will be deeply involved in the annual planning and month end reporting processes and will provide strategic and day-to-day support to global functional leadership team.
What you will do:
- Partner with global finance, legal and HR leadership teams to help deliver on critical initiatives while managing recurring operations
- Support leadership with financial processes for budgeting, forecasting, and actuals reporting of OpEx, CAPEX, and staffing
- Own teams budget process through an in-depth understanding of the leaders’ vision for their organizations
- Provide analytics and communicate risks and opportunities in a timely manner while suggesting appropriate steps to deliver commitments
- Collaborate with divisional, functional, and financial customers to drive alignment across a highly-matrixed organization
Education:
- Undergraduate Degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Accounting is required.
- Graduate Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in progressive Finance roles including FP&A is required.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail (emphasis on accuracy and timeliness) while being able to step back and analyze the overall business impact.
- Proven people and project management experience with successful results.
- Strong knowledge of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis), Cognos reporting tool (or equivalent), PowerPoint, PowerBI
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage by influence across a global organization.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven as an experienced, confident, and mature manager.
- Track record of developing meaningful relationships at all levels within an organization – at both the business unit and divisional level and can operate effectively in a matrix reporting structure.
- Engaged, passionate leader, who values frequent interactions and dialog with subordinates, peers, and the company’s leadership team.
- Ability to thrive and manage in a complex business environment
- Ability to professionally present results and financial analysis to the Leadership Team
- Able to define, quantify, and link the metrics used to measure progress on key initiatives
