Job Title: A&P Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Lead Mechanic
SUMMARY
The Airframe & Powerplant Technician is charged with servicing, repairing, and maintaining all aircraft inducted into the shop. In this capacity, the Airframe & Powerplant Technician is responsible for maintaining aircraft, ground equipment and facilities as needed to meet the airworthiness standards, operating schedules, appearance standards, and cost objectives of the assigned project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The A&P Technicians are directly responsible to the Lead Mechanics. They are responsible for the following items:
1. Perform and sign for compliance with aircraft repairs and inspection procedures as assigned.
2. Keep work areas clean. Return all equipment and tools to assigned areas. A&P Technicians will report all inoperative or faulty equipment to the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Mechanic in charge.
3. Will at the commencement of each repair or inspection initiate the proper documentation. Parts tags will include a complete description of the discrepancy on all removed parts. Determine if the work to be performed is a Required Inspection Item.
4. Ensure that hangar workshops and other areas assigned are maintained in an orderly manner.
5. Assist in the maintenance of technical manuals in a current status as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Mechanic.
6. Will have the minimum hand tools required to perform work assigned.
7. Verifying, through proper documentation, that any part installed on any aircraft or component is approved for that aircraft or component and has been visually inspected and is free of damage or contamination.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor through the Lead Mechanic.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of an FAA Airframe & Powerplant certification is required.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
The ability to communicate professionally and effectively with government regulators, customers, employees, technicians, management, vendors, and associate companies.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic computer skills and knowledge of general office equipment.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics and accounting as it pertains to requirements.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to recognize problems in order to resolve and eliminate threats to the company.
SCHEDULE FLEXIBILITY
Able and willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
GOVERNMENT AGENCY REQUIREMENTS
Able to qualify for all TSA security clearance requirements, have a valid driver’s license, and pass a pre-employment drug screening as well as random drug tests throughout employment tenure.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to operate all aircraft ground support equipment and regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit or be on their feet for long periods of time and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment of this position will range from that of an average hangar type environment to all types of weather conditions consistent with the region in which the maintenance department is located. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
