Maintenance Technician

$5,000 New Applicant Hiring Bonus!

Sign-On Incentive. You will be eligible to receive a sign-on incentive based on the following schedule:

  • $500 following your completion of one months (30 days) of continued employment with the Company.
  • $1,500 following your completion of three months (90) days of continued employment with the Company.
  • $3,000 following six (6) months of continued employment with the Company.
Hourly Rate:
$29 - $32.00
Summary:
Safely and efficiently work on any of the processing or packaging machines, in a manner that standards of quality are continuously met while helping improve downtime by ensuring machines continuously run to Company standards.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Ensures that all tasks and functions are performed in a safe manner and that expectations for quality are met throughout the production and packaging processes.
  • Work all regular and overtime scheduled shifts.
  • Preform all duties associated with bottle changes to ensure efficient and effective startups; not exclusive to rail and conveyor adjustments, installations of correct bottle handling parts, placement and adjustments of all primary and secondary assets, etc.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
  • Fabricate, disassemble and assemble production equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines and creates and documents hours worked on applicable work orders.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoot/repair processing filling and packaging production equipment.
  • Weld, perform sheet metal work and employ basic shop floor skills (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools).
  • Install, move, and relocate machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in an industrial maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting bearings, belts, sheaves, sprockets, chains, and gear reducers and proper alignment of these drive devices.
  • Experience in inspection of all included above and the ability to make recommendations on the proper level of replacement and inspection.
  • Ability to make recommendation on spare parts, lock-out tag-out, guarding, and the level of operator involvement for proper machine integrity.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits up to 480VAC and have requisite knowledge in the operation of a DMM.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the food industry and knowledge of GMP’s and SQF audits would be valuable.
Competencies:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Work Environment:
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
  • Usually loud working environment.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to stand and talk or hear
  • Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must regularly life and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently life and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally life and/or move more than 100 pounds.
