Job description
RHD is hiring for a Maintenance Technician. The individual in the role will perform a variety of general maintenance duties for residential and commercial sites and provide safe, comfortable home and working environments for our consumers and employees.

Responsibilities/Duties:
Performs maintenance service and repairs in the areas of:
  • Monthly Inspections.
  • Minor carpentry and painting.
  • Install hydraulic pumps.
  • Fixing safety hazards.
  • Minor plumbing repairs, as allowed by local ordinance.
  • Assess heating systems.
  • Minor electrical, as allowed by local ordinance.
  • Understand basic electrical principals.
  • Switch/outlet replacements.
  • Minor masonry.
  • Sidewalk repairs.
  • Minor pointing.
  • Assembling furniture.
  • Installing appliances.
  • Other duties as required may be assigned to this role.
Required Experience:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in maintenance role or relative trades.
Required Education:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver license and a clean driving record as determined by our insurance carrier.
  • Is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in general maintenance and repairs.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background and motor vehicle check.
  • Must be able to give work direction and work well under pressure and deadline driven.
  • Must have good communication skills and be an effective listener.
  • Must be reliable, possess a positive attitude and can work independently.
  • Must have general maintenance tools with reliable transportation to perform employment responsibilities.
  • Ability to carry and climb extension and step ladders.
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends when required.
  • Must be able to work a rotating 7 day on call schedule.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook.

RHD employees and programs in the City of Philadelphia are required to follow the COVID vaccine mandate. Revised PDPH guidance allows for new hires to be partially vaccinated at the time of hire. This means they have received at least one shot in a two-dose series or a single dose in a one-dose series before beginning in-person shifts. The final dose must be received within 8 weeks of hire (start date). This currently does not include boosters.
