Job Summary

The position of full-time Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general upkeep, repair, and maintenance of buildings and equipment, preventative maintenance programs, and maintenance person services. Position requires travel through King and Snohomish Counties, including the Eastside. The position will include work in the building trades (carpentry, cabinetry, painting, drywall, mechanical and electrical systems, etc.)

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Function:

-Regular, reliable and punctual attendance.

-Perform general repair and maintenance to building systems at public and private customers

-Light construction work, including rough and finish carpentry, drywall installation and finishing, interior and exterior painting, wallboard repair, ceiling and floor tile installation and similar duties.

-Light electrical work, changing light bulbs and ballasts, but including work as assigned by and under the direction of the Chief Engineer or General Manager

-Light plumbing work, including installing/replacing sink, faucet and toilet components, unclogging drains and pipes, and similar duties assigned by and under direction of the Chief Engineer or General Manager

-Light HVAC work primarily changing filters and system maintenance, but including other HVAC work assigned by and under the direction of the Chief Engineer or General Manager.

-Respond to and solve building maintenance related problems identified by tenants or owners.

-Provide preventative maintenance service to vehicles and equipment and maintain logs relative to same

-Assist in maintaining vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean serviceable condition, and maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the shop building, mechanical rooms, and building maintenance storage areas.

-Assist in fire and earthquake drills, safety inspections, and building inspections.

-Perform and other associated duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or General Manager.

-Maintain records and documentation incident to work duties-Dress appropriately: proper footwear and uniform.

-Participate in training relevant to improving job performance/safety

Job Specifications:

-Must be able to pass a Washington State Patrol and other background checks

-Customer service experience preferred

-Current Washington State Driver's License required

-Clean driving record required-Employee will work at customer site and travel in company vehicles where tobacco use is prohibited

-Clean, professional appearance, free of strong odors, including tobacco smoke, No Drug, tobacco, Vape, E cigarette use is permitted on job sites.

Qualifications and Skills

Skills & Abilities:

-Computer skills: Required to provide a mobile device with Google Calendar, Gmail, Google Sheets, Plangrid and Excel. Employees must demonstrate proficiency with these applications and other company programs.

-Must have a working knowledge of building and mechanical systems. Boiler experience a plus

-Must have knowledge of and experience using a variety of power and hand tools.

-Must have basic understanding of carpentry, cabinetry, painting, and drywall principles.

-Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.

-Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time 40 hours per week.
