Job description

Seeking an experience maintenance technician for a full-time, benefit-eligible position to provide support services to the assigned facilities with regard to maintaining the plant, equipment, offices, residential areas and grounds of multiple facilities in order to provide a safe and operational environment. Must have working knowledge and understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance methods and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1) Requires leadership and team skills.
2) Requires effective verbal, written and nonverbal communication skills.
3) Possess cognitive, organizational, and emotional ability and maturity to deal effectively with multiple stressors, deadlines and difficult situations.
4) Requires a working knowledge and ability to conduct general building and repair practices and methods.
5) The ability to construct and repair facilities while meeting and maintaining compliance with the local building and fire codes.
6) Requires a working knowledge of regulatory standards and requirements regarding safety and equipment.
7) Requires ability to enter and manipulate data into computerized work order management system.
8) Possess ability to work with minimal supervision and with multiple types of tools to complete assigned tasks.
9) Other duties as assigned by individual location.

A valid license and agency established minimum automobile coverage are required in the event the employee drives during the course of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with arms and hands; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities of the position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

Job Requirements

  • Five or more year’s maintenance, carpentry or similar skilled trade experience.
  • Have experience in an institutional and/or healthcare related maintenance position.
  • A valid drivers license at the time of hire with the ability to obtain and maintain a Class E Missouri/Class D Louisiana driver’s license by the end of the 60 day introductory period
  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Higher Level Education can be substituted for experience.
