MAINTENANCE FLOOR CREW
(1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.)

8-HOUR/12-MONTH POSITION

STARTING SALARY: Range 13 - $3,651.77-$4,030.89/Month (Maximum of 2 years credit for work
experience in a public school district will be given.)

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cleans and maintains floors in District offices, classrooms, cafeterias, and other facilities in

accordance with a planned cleaning schedule.

• Sweeps, mops, strips, waxes, and polishes floors including tile, linoleum, and other surfaces as

appropriate.

• Lifts, moves, and replaces furniture and equipment as needed to perform floor maintenance

duties.

• Operates specialized equipment including floor machines, wet and dry vacuums, buffers, electric

sanders, and carpet cleaners; assures proper maintenance of assigned equipment.

• Operates a District vehicle to transport equipment to appropriate work area; loads and unloads

equipment; and reports major vehicle maintenance needs.

• Unlocks and locks doors as needed to perform cleaning duties; maintains the security of school

and District facilities.

• Prepares routing records related to work performed.

• Performs routine custodial duties as substitute for Custodians as required.

• Strips, sands, and re-varnishes wood floors and stages as assigned.

• Performs other related duties as required.
  

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
➢ One year of experience involved with the care and cleaning of buildings and facilities, preferably

in a school district.
➢ Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. (Must submit copy.)
➢ Must score 70% or better on the Custodian I Examination.
➢ Possession of a valid Class C California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
➢ Must submit an original, current, certified California Department of Motor Vehicles record

check.
➢ Condition of Employment - Insurability by the District’s liability insurance carrier.
