Job Title: Mailroom Clerk Check Safe - (onsite)
Location: US-GA-Atlanta (Sandy Springs)
FLSA: Non-exempt
Shift is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday - Friday
Job Overview:
The Mail Clerk Check Safe sorts and delivers incoming mail as well as prepares and sends outgoing mail. This position receives, tracks, and distributes mail, as well as ensures that outgoing mailings are metered, monitored, and picked up by the post office. Within the check safe room, the Mailroom Clerk Safe Check requires meticulous attention to detail, confidentiality, timeliness, and a strong autonomous work ethic.
Job Responsibilities:
- Handling a large volume of checks and large check amounts repeatedly
- Collect, sort, open, and processes all carrier mail and parcels from vendor partners such as USPS, FedEx, UPS, and others
- Assures that all mail is received and processed in a timely and accurate manner
- Responds to all employee tracking questions by giving data from the company's internal tracking system
- Ensures that all mail and packages are logged, inspected, forwarded, or returned
- Distributes all facility department inter-office mail
- Documents, processes, and files all mail denials, both incoming and outgoing
- Keeps track of all legal, special, medial, and certified mail that comes in and out
- Uses all mail machines to include postage, meter machines, and other office machinery
- Analyze any problems or unique requests that arise and offer appropriate answers
- Manage vendor relationships and partnerships such as USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.
- Assist with the ongoing evaluation of customer service and mailroom services, making necessary adjustments to services and processes
- This position reports to the facilities management department and requires the flexibility to train in all parts of the mailroom and facilities
- Assists with additional tasks as needed
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience
- Physical ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly
- Valid driver’s license required to travel between locations (under 5 miles from office)
- Ability to learn new processes quickly and efficiently
- Excellent time management skills
- Outstanding customer service skills for our vendors and staff
- Ability to operate under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Overtime is required on occasion
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check
