Overview

Operates tools and machines equipped with rotary or reciprocating blades to cut various forms of material, according to specifications. Processes cut material to prepare for use in the Assembly operation. Delivers material to work cells using a pallet jack or forklift.

Essential Responsibilities

• Read work order to determine the dimensions of sheets to be cut and the amount of material needed to ensure the best use of raw materials.
• Measure, cut, and drill ceramic fiber boards, Lexan, Teflon, and plastic materials using a drill press, mill, band saw, and/or table saw.
• Process material for use by brushing or rolling rigidizer on the surface and drying/hardening the material in a curing industrial oven.
• Transport processed materials to work cells.
• Ensure work cells are stocked with required materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

• Highschool diploma or GED
• Must understand manufacturing drawings and specifications.
• Must be able to use a tape measure, caliper, and other hand tools.
• Must be able to operate drill press, mill, and various types of saws, including a table saw and band saw.
• Must possess a good understanding of basic math with the ability to use fractions and decimals.
• Must be able to safely operate pallet jack or forklift.
• Must be willing to wear respirator and Tyvek suit while cutting and processing materials.
• Must be willing to work in a dusty environment.
• Must possess excellent attention to detail.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
