Grundfos CBS Inc. is seeking an experienced Logistics Lead to join its Logistics team. The Logistics Lead will be responsible for overseeing the warehouse/crating area. Must be able to lead DAM meetings and step in as Supervisor as needed. Must be able to train new employees in all logistics/ warehouse duties. May recommend disciplinary actions. Adheres to all 5s standards and leads by example. Must have the ability to train all new personnel and be at 3 of 4 squares in the skills matrix in most processes. This position reports directly to the Logistics Supervisor and will operate daily out of the Brookshire, Texas facility. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.
What is the job about?
- Review and ensure that production orders are processed to optimize production/utilization of time.
- Assist with the Review of all PTO, vacation request and weekly attendance submittals for Logistics department
- Motivate, train, prioritize, and ensure the team has the necessary tools to do their job effectively, escalate as necessary.
- Seek out and implement cost reduction measures in all aspects of logistics SAP transactions and activities.
- Pull parts issued to work orders and stage them in the proper areas to include assembly, machine shop or other assigned areas. Will notify the production manager and production control team of any shortages in materials.
- Oversee the stocking parts in the proper location. Will verify and check stock according to business needs to ensure accurate counts for producing product.
- Assist in conducting weekly cycle count program remains on target. Make adjustments as necessary to ensure continuous counts are completed by year end. Responsible for maintaining proper counts of parts pulled, stocked, or staged.
- Lead the department in all 5S activities on a daily basis, including maintaining equipment and tools.
- Enter requisitions for all consumables and tools related to the logistics department.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to allocate resources between the departments.
- Perform all work in compliance with company policies, procedures, legislation, regulations, and direction and identify non-compliance situations for resolution.
What do you need to apply?
Qualified candidates will possess a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or a combination of training, education, and experience with further technical education in a related field. Additionally, have a minimum three to five years of Logistics experience.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft products including Power Point, Excel, and Word; and working knowledge of SAP
- Possession of a forklift license and experience in the use of lifting equipment, including crane lift rigging and SAP are assets
- Mathematics skills including proficiency subtracting, multiplying, and dividing to maintain proper inventory, counts and to maximize shipping and receiving performance.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally in the English language to understand and use written or verbal control and work instructions,
- Ability to analyze and problem solving to resolve various technical and interpersonal issues with collaboration, respect and professionalism
- This position requires the incumbent to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time, frequently grasping pens and tools, stooping, crouching, reach when performing duties; May also require twisting and reaching.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance and peripheral vision.
- Lifting pumps and/or boxes up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work in a non-climate-controlled factory or field environment.
