Logistics and Warehouse Coordinator (Hammond)
Primary responsibility is to obtain, maintain and verify records and information on incoming and outgoing (domestic and international) products that are shipped via ground or shipping container and providing information to managers and co-workers on their status. The Logistics and Warehouse Coordinator generates required reports and documentation for shipments, provides routing /tracking information, issues shipping instructions so that deliveries arrive on time and to the correct location ensuring any problems that may arise are resolved to avoid delays. The position generates all required documentation for shipments.
REQUIREMENTS
- HS / GED; Associates of Arts degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in Shipping / Receiving working in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding how to manage business relationships
- Excellent organizational/time management skills with focus on multitasking and urgency on customer, shipping & receiving, and manufacturing operational issues.
- Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred) system a plus.
- Experience in the essential elements and processes required in performing quarterly and annual product inventory.
- Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically with Excel is required.
- Experience working collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
- Experience working in a Union environment preferred.
- Effectively communicate both orally and in writing to diverse work groups.
- Strong problem-solving skills are required.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proven success developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work in a timely manner.
- Experience in DOT and Rail/FRA regulations
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to
- Support the management of the hourly shipping workforce.
- Process bills-of-lading and other shipping/receiving documents.
- Negotiate with trucking companies on LTL/FTL rates.
- Work with trucking companies to ensure logistic requirements are met.
- Assist with inventory control and production planning responsibilities.
- Manage and help resolve customer complaints and issues as it relates to shipping and inventory.
- Prepare required shipping documentation for all domestic and international orders.
- Ensure information on Pick Ticket is correct and advise Customer Service if any discrepancies.
- Coordinate, distribute and oversee daily Pick Ticket activity assigned to S&R hourly personnel.
- Communicate shipping issues or delays to Customer Service that will effect On Time or In Full shipments to customers.
- Work as part of the order fulfillment group to identify and resolve late or delayed shipments.
- Maintain required records and documentation for all outgoing and incoming shipments from and to the warehouse.
- Retrieve completed Pick Tickets for shipments from Shippers and obtain product LOT numbers and quantities.
- Prepare Certificate of Analysis and shipping documents for exception orders that are received.
- Assist in the review, update and maintenance of the Shipping Department Standard Operations Procedures Manual.
- Maintaining inventory and ordering of non-bulk raw materials and packaged items
- Assist in planning and scheduling
- Assist in railroad logistics (Burnham yard – Hammond site)
- Assist in bulk TT logistics
