Join our growing family at 1899. Our newest creation is 1899 Social Club in Shaker Heights, OH. This 16,000 sqft facility will feature 9 state-of-the-art indoor golf simulators, a casual fine dining restaurant with 80 person dining room, two full service craft cocktail bars, a stage and lounge area for live music and a speakeasy whiskey library with chefs table.

1899 Social Club is looking for passionate professional line cooks to prepare food to the chef’s specifications. Responsibilities include: organizing and preparing assigned kitchen stations for service, then producing and cooking all items assigned to the stations properly. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our guest satisfaction and overall happiness. Ideal candidates will be familiar with most modern forms of cooking, how to properly cook and temp meat, how to maintain a cool and calm composure under stress and pressure while performing the duties of his/her job.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the quality and presentation of dishes produced meet company standards.
  • Utilizes Recipe Book.
  • Works at least one station, maintaining the highest quality in finished product.
  • Ensures that set ticket times are met and communicates to management if not met.
  • Reviews station worked’ and prepares a prep list daily.
  • Ensures that the station assigned to them is properly set up for service.
  • Checks stations assigned to them and tastes everything before service.
  • Stays focused and is conscious about food presentation and consistency.
  • Practices proper food handling procedures.
  • Practices proper knife handling skills.
  • Uses and applies proper kitchen Public Health and food safety procedures at all times.
  • Properly wraps, labels, dates and stores all food items in their proper location.
  • Sets up, operates and cleans all kitchen machinery/equipment and stores it in its proper place.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of correct maintenance and handling of equipment, using only as intended and only after proper training has been demonstrated.
  • Efficiently works with materials and/or resources being aware of and minimizing costs and expenses.
  • Keeps work station clean at all times during service time utilizing sanitation buckets.
  • Disinfects and sanitizes cutting boards and worktables.
  • Participates in Walk-in/Reach-in organization and sanitation.
  • Ensures kitchen and Health Department sanitation requirements are maintained at all times.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and late hours when necessary.
  • Must have the ability to report to work on time and on a regular basis.
  • Must have the ability to follow a set schedule.
  • Other duties will be assigned.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
