Georgia-Pacific is searching for a Logistics Manager for our Palatka Consumer Goods Plant located in Palatka, FL. The Logistics Manager is responsible for directly managing a team of salaried employees in the execution of logistical activities including inventory management, planning and order fulfillment.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Overseeing the supervision of our Logistics team including work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluating performance and making recommendations for personnel actions; motivating employees to achieve peak productivity while playing to individual comparative advantages, including recruiting, training, coaching, counseling, and rewarding.
• Design innovative and effective solutions to challenges and opportunities in support of targeted operational and business priorities and objectives
• Work with key partners in advanced analytics, data products and reporting to understand requirements and improve opportunities to drive knowledge into action and optimization
• Oversee all transactional processing in ERP and WMS systems.
• Acts as primary point of contact for internal and external customers on transactional issues.
• Be a thought partner and key collaborator to stakeholder and partner teams to frame and translate business questions into analytically driven products
• Providing advice and assistance to top management in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of modifications to existing operations, systems, and procedures
• Lead various projects across cross functional teams
  

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

• Five (5) years management experience in a warehouse, logistics, or supply chain function
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field
• Experience working within at least one Supply Chain EDI or Work Management System (WMS) (ie SAP, Oracle)
• Experience at developing and delivering presentations.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience applying Lean principles in a shipping/logistics environment. E,g, Kanban, RCA, value stream mapping, Leader Standard Work, etc.
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field
• Management and talent development experience
