Launch Manager Responsibilities
· Manage Portage EAS activities related to Launching New Products and Significant Engineering Changes.
· Lead multi-functional teams typically consisting of but not limited to Production Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement and Safety to prepare Portage EAS for production.
· Organize regularly scheduled Launch Team Meetings to track project maturation. Launch Manager will provide updates to Portage EAS Leadership and North America Leadership as Required. Open issues will be tracked via Check List and/or Open Issue Reports.
· Develop and lead the execution of the Launch Plan that ensures adequate inventory is available to support launch activities.
· If necessary, schedule “break-out” meetings for detail discussion to resolve an open issue. Launch Manager is not the “problem solver”; but, if necessary will facilitate a discussion the will solve the problem.
· Manage scheduled activities (prototype builds, validation builds, run @ rates, etc) to support the PPAP and Engineering needs of the program.
· Support WKW Program Management involving Portage EAS production plant issues/actions. Support Program Management Gate Review Process.
· Interface directly with customers and suppliers as required answering questions and resolving issues.
Successful Launch Manager must have or quickly develop the following knowledge/skills.
· Working knowledge of production management from order receipt to shipment.
· Ability to read and understand part prints (geometric tolerance).
· Understanding of the roll of DV and PV Testing during the development and launch of a product.
· Basic Knowledge of Customer PPAP expectations
· Basic Understanding of MRP and inventory management as well as its role in production management.
· Basic Understanding of process design
· Develop a plan that meets WKW and customer expectations
· Understanding of PFMEA and Control Plan development.
· Continuous Improvement / 5S.
· Attention to detail.
Computer Skills
- Working knowledge of the MS Office Suite including MS Project.
- Able to contribute through Webex meetings
- CAD or AutoCad is a plus.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering STEM discipline preferred or equivalent experience of a Master ’s Degree is a plus.
- Any relevant education and/or training in Program or Project Management

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
