REQUIREMENTS: 1) High school diploma/GED. 2) Must be a medical laboratory assistant or medical assistant certified by a national agency, or meet requirements as defined in the CLIA 88 Federal Register. 3) Must pass fit for duty and color-blind test. 4) BLS certification required
Must have current licensure/certifications upon hire. New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required certifications (BLS and/or any other life support certifications required for the job).
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision of the laboratory manager and/or shift supervisor, this position is responsible for performing laboratory duties and support functions efficiently and appropriately following the policies and procedures established by the hospital and laboratory department. Maintains positive working relationships with staff and other departments to provide optimal quality outcomes within the framework of professional laboratory practice. Perform waived, moderate complexity and automated testing while maintaining specimen integrity. Independently performs a wide variety of laboratory procedures in Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunology, and Coagulation to include evaluating and problem-solving specimen issues. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting for all laboratory instruments for optimal performance. Perform and understand quality control guidelines with appropriate documentation. Perform appropriate patient identifiers while collecting and/or processing specimens for the laboratory. Incorporates safety/infection control measures into work practices and follows HIPPA guidelines. Completes mandatory hospital/laboratory education and departmental competencies within required time frame. Notifies appropriate supervisor when supply stock is low. Participates in orientation and training of new employees, students, and observers. Adheres to WISE Excellent Standards. These responsibilities are met according to laboratory and hospital policies as well as AABB, JC, CLIA, and CAP regulations. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

: Reports to the section supervisor and Laboratory Director operationally; To the Chief Clinical Officer administratively.
