Supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of employees performing routine, standardized biological and/or biochemical tests, as well as more complex procedures on blood that assist physicians in the diagnosis and clinical management of patients. Assumes responsibility for recognizing results or problems that require referral to Medical Director or Administrative Director. Performs additional tasks as requested by Medical Director or designee

The schedule for this position is Monday Friday. Must be available to respond off hours for emergency cases.

Required Criteria:

• Bachelor s Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or similar degree.
• Must meet current NJ Sanitary Code Chapter 44, Chapter IV, 8:44-2.4 General Laboratory Supervisor qualifications.
• 5 years progressive work experience in General Laboratory Services (Generalist).
• Effective written and oral communication skills, computer skills and organizational skills required

Preferred Criteria:

• Master's Degree preferred.
• Experience managing a clinical laboratory team in a large hospital organization or trauma center.
• American Society for Clinical Pathology Certification (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
• Current experience as a laboratory supervisor/manager.
