Food Service Lead

Purpose: The food service administrator serves Christ by overseeing food service to the students of Mount Olive Christian Day School. From a heart that delights in serving others and enhancing their impact in God’s Kingdom, the food service lead ensures that school meals meet or exceed nutritional standards, providing a strong foundation for student growth and development.

Accountability: Reports to the Food Service Administrator, principal and the Board of Christian

Day School

Qualifications:

  • Mature Christian with a heart to serve others
  • A genuine excitement and passion for Christian education;
  • Strong service-related people skills and pleasant demeanor;
  • The ability to work well with other people;
  • A minimum of 8 hours of food safety training required either not more than 5 years prior to start date or completed within 30 calendar days of employment start date (ServSafe

Certification).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports and upholds the philosophy of Lutheran education and the mission of Mt. Olive

Christian Day School

  • Demonstrates professionalism in dress, conduct, demeanor, and work habits
  • Must ensure compliance with Professional Standards for themselves and applicable staff as defined by the Department of Public Instruction
  • Ensures that Standard Operation Procedures are implemented and updated on an annual basis.
  • Report weekly breakfast & lunch counts to the vendor
  • Complete production records and daily temperature logs, as required by the Department of

Public Instruction

  • Order supplies (gloves and disposable utensils)
  • Forward monthly menu calendar to Office Administrator for publication
  • Maintain daily records of students’ lunch consumption (free, reduced, full pay) and is responsible for forwarding that information to the Food Service Administrator.
  • Serve food daily
  • Clean up kitchen / lunchroom following serving periods of breakfast and lunch
  • Advise milk vendor of changes in the milk order based on attendance and non-school days
  • Maintain City of Milwaukee Health Department regulations in preparation for 2 yearly, unannounced inspections
  • Secures a qualified replacement if unable to report to work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
