The Janssen Clinical Innovation (JCI) department reports into Global Development (GD) and is dedicated to driving innovation into the clinical operating model to make clinical development faster and better for patients, investigators, Janssen, and the industry at large. JCI’s approach is to learn through doing we design and conduct demonstration projects that generate knowledge about novel operational models and methods. Once proven valuable and feasible, we scale and embed new operational approaches and technologies into Janssen R&D with the goals of improving patient and site experiences, expediting drug development, and reducing overall costs. Principal Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the innovation methodology across the four phases of innovation:
    • Discovery, Ideation, Demonstration, and Scale-up to evaluate, source and drive innovation initiatives.
  • Lead small innovation projects or an individual portion of a large innovation project from ideation through demonstration.
  • Partner with individuals from across the Global Development organization to identify business challenges and novel means by which they can been solved.
  • Identify and rapidly evaluate solution providers to determine the value they may provide to clinical trials.
  • Conduct literature reviews and provide recommendations to shape innovation projects.
  • Create and conduct presentations to key stakeholders on business cases for new solutions, generated evidence and lessons learned, and similar topics.

Qualifications

The candidate must be actively pursuing a graduate degree in life sciences, business, or technology-related majors. No prior experience is required. Experience in research or clinical trials is preferred.
