Job description
New Pig is currently searching for a Help Desk Technician to join its IT Operations team. The position is responsible for providing IT-related technical support to internal customers for networking and computing infrastructures.
This is an onsite position at either our Tipton, PA or Duncansville, PA office.
Responsibilities:
- Using our in-house ticketing system, handle IT related requests and perform first-level incident troubleshooting and resolution to our end users
- Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate team members
- Repair and troubleshoot client desktop PCs, laptops and other mobile devices, as well as troubleshoot software and network issues
- Familiar with remote connectivity tools to provide remote support to employees at all locations
- Required to learn new software and hardware technologies on an ongoing basis
- Perform proactive maintenance on PCs, laptops and printers
- Configure and install IT equipment such as PCs and laptops, phones, laserjet and industrial label printers, desktop scanners, barcode scanners and other related technologies
- Must be familiar with MFA to assist users with configuration and training on their mobile devices
- Document new processes and update existing documentation when processes/systems are updated or change
- Provide end user training where applicable
- Monitor and follow-up on outstanding issues and update users of status
- Assist with maintaining all end user corporate IT assets in our inventory system with annual audits
- Provide after hours on-call support on a rotating schedule
- Adhere to New Pig’s Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent IT Support experience
- Solid communication, social and customer-service skills
- Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and efficiently handle multiple tickets at the same time
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong documentation skills
- Must be familiar with the Windows 10 operating system
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, including the OU structure and how accounts and groups are provisioned and maintained
- Familiar with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other wireless technologies
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and provisioning accounts
- Knowledge of computer hardware with solid PC and laptop skills
- Must be dependable and reliable to report to work at the assigned time
- Must be able to work in a team environment and also independently and proactively with minimal supervision
- Must be honest and security minded to protect employee and customer data and confidentiality
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation
- Must have a valid PA driver’s license to travel to different office locations as needed
- Mac experience is a plus
