Our company is seeking a Technology Manager to lead the IT department and align its activities with corporate and facility objectives. As the Technology Manager you will be on call to respond to IT system issues & outages. You will be responsible for overseeing Warehouse Management System, web based software, Local LAN, File Servers, Application Servers, and client PC’s. You will also manage local IT staffing, IT expense budget, and capital planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop instructional classes to end-users on system applications and Warehouse Management Software.
  • Identify, design, develop and implement technology and procedural-based solutions to coincide with site objectives.
  • Analyze the distribution processes and identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
  • Monitor Warehouse Management system to ensure system performance and data integrity in Warehouse Management System.
  • Document and resolve system issues and determine cause and effect items within Warehouse Management System and other applications used for operations.
  • Develop and maintain a stable computing environment to reduce downtime on core systems required for operations.
  • Procure supply items that are necessary for the effective use of the Warehouse Management system. Ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained.
  • Ensure that RF communication devices and their connections are maintained.
  • Develop Departmental budget for staffing and supplies, and monitor those expenses to ensure that they are within budgeted amounts.
  • Document design of requested enhancements for Warehouse Management System and develop ROI.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Clerical Associates with the responsibilities of bus driving, clerical support for operations, and maintenance and accountability of equipment.
  • Oversee IT staff, building a cohesive team working to accomplish site objectives.
  • Oversee administration of all file and application servers including backup and restore, monitor performance and disk space, plan upgrades, user maintenance, directory structures and user security.
  • Oversee administration of telephone and security systems.
  • Ensure that corporate-wide standards for networking architecture are followed. This includes hardware, software, telecommunications, and LAN/WAN technologies.
  • Develop DC LAN standards for areas that are not covered under corporate standards.
  • Develop and implement the DC’s LAN structure jointly with users and vendors through considering needs, costs, benefits, available technologies, flexibility for future needs, recoverability for failures, and data security.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other remote IT staff, IT staff from other BGDC facilities, customer IT staff, and third party IT staff.
  • Any additional responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management
  • Sound knowledge of Distribution Process and use of technology-based solutions to increase productivity and service levels.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, application development tools and techniques, UNIX, Windows platforms (server and desktop), Informix, SQL Server, Terminal Services, and IIS.
  • On-call support for system problems.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and balance multiple tasks
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, including ability to present to senior management and customers.
  • Ability to train end-users on software applications.
  • Ability to mentor IT staff and create team environment, while remaining focused on customer objectives.
  • Ability to schedule own tasks and handle all facets of assigned projects independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform in-depth problem solving.
