Job description

Help install energy-efficient equipment and products in homes, apartment buildings and small commercial buildings. Talk with building owners and residents about how they can conserve energy and save money. Job requires 1+ years of customer service or sales experience to comfortably talk with people, and 1+ years of wiring, lighting, HVAC or related trade.

Responsibilities:

• Travel locally to appointments with a company fleet vehicle.
• Introduce and explain energy-efficiency incentive programs targeted to customer’s sectors.
• Carefully and correctly install energy-efficient equipment and products.
• Perform all duties to install energy efficient equipment and products including aerators, showerheads, LED lights, and low-voltage HVAC components.
• Seal exterior penetrations, window and door gaps, attic floor penetrations, attic doors and box sills as required.
• Daily travel to pre-scheduled appointments.
• Meet all customer specifications and company quality standards.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
• Learn the program’s strategic direction regarding energy efficiency and the business activities of its customers.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
• Assist in conducting blower door and combustion safety tests.
• Be professional.
• Work in a team atmosphere to collaborate and continuously improve operations year after year.
• Occasional weekend travel to a job site to accommodate a customer’s need may be required.
• Count inventory and submit inventory reports.
• Keep fleet vehicle contents safely stored and keep vehicle clean and orderly.

Requirements:

• US Veteran, National Guardsman, Reservist or Military Spouse preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of customer service or sales experience (training provided about describing the program)
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with customers, clients, and employees.
• 1+ years’ experience with installation and troubleshooting of basic wiring, lighting, HVAC, or other electronics in commercial/residential applications.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude
• Preferred experience installing technologies in buildings
• Comfortable and skilled with many hand tools.
• Valid, active driving license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
• Background in one or more of the following preferred
• - Building science and design
• - Building envelope
• - Weatherization or related fields
• - Building maintenance
• - Home inspection
• - Renewable energy
• Ability to handle a wide variety of building-related work and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, and have an ability to prioritize workload.
• Ability to identify and resolve project application issues with customers and trade allies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong data entry skills in entering information in tracking systems/databases.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems.
• Knowledge of mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages and ratios.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
