As an Inside Sales Customer Service Representative with Geismar North America, Inc. in our Beaufort, SC, facility, you will serve as a key contact and liaison between our clients, our outside Sales and technical support team and our production operations in meeting our customer’s needs.
This position is NOT a cold call sales position; but rather requires strong inside sales and customer service and support skill sets, identifying and delivering railway repair and maintenance products, technical documents and equipment to our clients.
· Preferred Education & Experience
Railway equipment maintenance and repair industry experience is desirable.
· Experience in a heavy equipment or commercial vehicle related industry may be considered for substitution.
· Associates’ Degree in Business Management or another related field is preferred.
Qualifications
· 3 years of Inside sales and/or industry-related customer service experience
· Fluent with Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
· Strong attention to detail
· Communications proficiency
· Results-driven
· Knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Inside Sales Customer Service Representative is responsible for processing orders for company products and services, expediting and coordinating flow of work within or between internal departments, and reviewing agreements or proposed agreements for conformity to company rates, rules, and regulations.
Essential Functions
· Monitor portals for assigned accounts so that orders placed are received and submitted timely. Submit all orders to M3 ERP system, on a timely basis (within 2 hours of receipt) including those received by methods other than customer portals.
· Coordinate with Shipping and Production as necessary to ensure the right products are shipped to customers.
· Manage large amounts of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner. Answer calls and emails from customers and provide quotes, submit sales orders, process returns, and handle or coordinate any other potential customer need.
· Negotiate with customers, assess areas of dispute, and amend contracts when required.
· Serve as liaison with manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, and shipping personnel on production orders.
· Support and assist Sales representatives including processing of distribution orders to ship product to individual sales rep locations.
· Support and assist other Geismar business units with quotes, sales order submission, shipments, as needed. Work with Sales Support Secretary (as needed) to finalize commercial paperwork for international orders.
· Prepare all documents for domestic and international shipments including invoices, and needed certifications.
· Ensure proper billing of freight and special charges.
· Ensure pricing integrity with products submitted on sales orders.
· Issue credit requests per verified customer debits, internal management requests, or for billing error correction.
· Frequently attend product/ equipment training to improve knowledge and performance level.
· Assist in training and developing new employees.
· Generate correspondence to secure additional customer information or resolve customer disputes.
· Maintain files of all documentation.
· Assist with other projects outside of customer service.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting with daily interaction in the Warehouse and plant areas. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
This job may require the individual to lift 50 lbs. or less if product inventory movement is required. Generally, it is a largely sedentary role. Some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
