Summary

Bitterroot Bio is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and hands on-on leader to join our team as Head of IT and Facilities. This individual is responsible for the overall management of Bitterroot Bio's IT and systems infrastructure, cybersecurity, and east coast facility. This role will build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders while delivering strategic and tactical execution of IT and facilities management. This position is ideal for a talented, highly motivated and results driven individual who will thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, start-up environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Establish the IT strategy and roadmap supporting Bitterroot Bio's company goals and business objectives
  • Continually assess current enterprise technology systems, identify areas for improvement, and set goals for future growth and development
  • Establish effective communication channels to provide visibility into prioritization and progress on projects as well as ad-hoc updates
  • Partner with leadership to establish practices for planning, budgeting, prioritization, and governance
  • Provide top-tier, responsive support for day-to-day IT needs (e.g., helpdesk support), including off-hours and on-call support for multiple locations across the US
  • Assist with implementing new technology including the training of teams and functional areas
  • Develop and maintain IT Policies and Procedures
  • Maintain enterprise systems (e.g., NetSuite, ADP, etc.), ensuring that vendors provide high-quality products and service
  • Support business partners in evaluating new/replacement software vendors
  • Oversee the implementation and onboarding of new enterprise tools or systems
  • Oversee IT-specific spend within the enterprise IT and software budget and negotiate vendor contracts
  • Ensure system security by conducting risk assessments, audits, and regular testing of infrastructure
  • Oversee facilities operations in Needham-based facility
  • Lead other key initiatives as they arise in a fast-paced, startup environment with the ability to embrace change, innovate, and initiate process improvements across the organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, business information systems or related field preferred
  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing IT strategies across scientific and nonscientific business functions
  • Extensive and hands-on expertise in business systems requirements, planning roadmaps, implementation, and operations in a biotechnology setting
  • Ability to present information and strategies in a clear and concise business fashion, identifying major issues and concerns and recommending corrective actions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills required with demonstrated success in leading projects and interacting with cross functional teams
  • Ability to navigate, problem-solve, execute, and lead in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment

    • This position is based in the Needham, MA area, with the ability to commute into the office at least 4 days a week.

While our ranges are posted, the exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the successful candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, location or comparison to other employees already in similar roles. In addition to base salary, our positions are eligible for variable compensation through one of our incentive plans as well as equity compensation based on role and level.
