The Public Employees Retirement System is recruiting for one (1) Information Systems Specialist 4 (Data Application Analyst) (Remote Work) within the Information Services Division, Enterprise Applications Section.

This is a full time, permanent position.

This position is based at our headquarters office in Tigard, Oregon, however, the successful candidate is eligible for full-time remote work.

Information Services Division (ISD) / Enterprise Applications Section (EAS)
ISD supports the Agency's mission by maintaining all information systems, computers, and communication networks. ISD enables PERS business units, through the implementation of automation and technology, to provide high-quality service to members, employers, and other stakeholders.
Within ISD, a working body called EAS is responsible for providing resources and methodologies for the development, maintenance, and enhancement support of the agency business applications.
Information Systems Specialist 4 (Data Application Analyst):
This position will provide custom business application and reporting services to fill gaps in business processes. This position works closely with business analysts, business stakeholders and other PERS staff across agency lines.
As a Data Application Analyst, you will analyze data on an enterprise level to compile and/or filter out unnecessary information to provide insight into business operations. Reports provide staff with accurate and pertinent information needed to perform their tasks. You will need to be fluent in Microsoft SQL, develop using Visual Studio and possess excellent soft skills like communication to reach consensus with colleagues more quickly.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
(a) Three (3) years of information systems experience in creating complex business reports using Microsoft SQL and associated reporting tool technologies.
OR
(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;
OR
(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;
AND
1 years of information systems experience in creating complex business reports using Microsoft SQL and associated reporting tool technologies.
REQUESTED SKILLS (DESIRED ATTRIBUTES)

Ability to develop custom Microsoft SQL queries to extract, translate and load data required for custom reporting.

Ability to analyze business for data reporting needs, create report design specifications, and develop reports that meet the requirements.

Must have experience building and publishing reports in Power BI, Power Apps, or other forms of presenting custom reports.

Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including charting, functions, and pivot tables.

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Ability to learn quickly.

Outstanding critical thinking skills.

Ability to organize work efficiently in addition to the capacity to work well and maintain composure under time pressures.

The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%.
