Job description

The Bagger position is responsible for performing duties within the packaging department of Southeastern Reduction Company. This position is to ensure products are packaged correctly, safely, and efficiently to customers. Must be able to lift and stack 50lb bags continuously.
Responsibilities – Include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for operation of the valve bag packer to fill bags with 50 lbs. of product, tuck in the valve sleeve to eliminate spillage, verify weight and then hand stack on pallets with glue between each layer. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. continuously for up to 10 hours a day.
Responsible for placing protective barriers on pallets before stacking such as plastic wrap and cardboard slip sheets.
Responsible for filling bulk bags of product to specific weights as required. All bags are placed on scale for verification of proper weight.
Responsible for correcting any over/under weight bags, inspecting each unit of product to ensure proper coding, ensuring paperwork for production records are properly documented, and securing pallets of product through an automated stretch wrapping machine.
Responsible for cleaning of all mill areas/levels as scheduled and must not be afraid of heights.
Cleaning Responsibilities - Include, but are not limited to the following:
Area around the bagging department should remain clean and swept. If product gets on the floor, stop and clean it up. Pallet wrapping area must be kept clean. Assist in any cleaning needed in the production/packaging area and/or in the plant as needed. Weekly cleaning of equipment is required.
Must not be afraid of heights and forklift operation experience is a plus.

• Valdosta, GA 31601: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Shift availability:

• Day Shift: 9am-5pm
• Night Shift: 5pm - 1am
• Overnight Shift: 1am-9am
