Human Resources Administrative Assistant
Job Summary:
The Human Resource Administrative Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Processes required paperwork for changes in job classification, wage increases, and other related employment matters.
- Prepare new hire packages.
- Assist with preparation of ad hoc human resource reports.
- Prepare purchase orders for purchasing office supplies and packaging materials for all locations.
- Mail monthly newsletters to employees.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff
- Share payroll responsibilities with HR Manager.
- Assist accounting department as needed
- Act as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which includes health disability, and retirement plan providers
- Assist HR manager with annual 401K audit.
- Ensure all personnel files are maintained and kept up to date.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. Be flexible.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Extensive knowledge of organization’s Policy and Procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Score of 5 or better on the Reading for Information and a 3 on the Applied Mathematics WorkKeys Assessments.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English, including: a. Author narrative reports via email and use our SharePoint forums. b. Understand acronyms, paraphrased definitions of a technical term, and industry jargon. c. Apply technical terms and jargon and relate them to new situations. d. Apply complex instructions that include conditionals to situations described in the materials. e. Interpret and apply company policies and safety regulations.
- Math skills must include: a. Solve problems that require a single type of mathematics operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using whole numbers. b. Change numbers from one form to another using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, or percentages.
- Ability to operate general office equipment.
- Ability to type 35 words a minute.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven work experience as an HR Administrative Assistant or HR Administrator
- Hands on experience with HR Software.
- Administrative training required.
- Two years of administrative assistant experience preferred.
