To assist in our growing business that now includes several Midwest regional locations, Midland Tool & Supply is hiring an HR Generalist that will lead in ensuring our most important asset is invested in, our people! The HR Generalist Position
The HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in maintaining a positive and stable work environment for employees. The HR Generalist’s primary responsibility is to build and support company culture while hiring and retaining staff. Midland Tool & Supply’s team maintains a pulse on the morale and productivity of its team by staying connected to them. From holding open office hours to walking the shop floor, the HR Generalist can be a true connector for our team!


The position is ideal for someone comfortable working as an HR team-of-one, but is looking for growth into a management-level role.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the full employee lifecycle experience from offer through onboarding and offboarding
  • Processing payroll
  • Recruiting
  • Being a liaison with the finance department for tax filings & payments
  • Benefit administration and auditing
  • 401(k) Administration
  • Supporting and leading compliance and training programs
  • Other general business duties as required and assigned

Preferred Experience, Skills & Abilities of the HR Generalist

  • At least 2-4 years in a true HR Generalist role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred, but not required
  • Experience in a manufacturing-based industry is preferred, but not required
  • Willingness to engage in collaboration, problem solve and act
  • Extreme attention to detail and willingness to do the day-to-day minutia
  • Ability to learn and grow with an expanding company

Compensation, Benefits & Structure of the HR Generalist
The position is full-time and permanent, with a competitive salary structure based on skills and experience.
