Hello and thanks for looking at this position! To Live & Play in LA is looking for therapists for home and school based sessions throughout the LA area. If you are in school on an OT, SLP, MFT, Social Work, Psychology or other related fields path and want some more clinical experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other developmental diagnoses this position provides a good opportunity to do so! There are many un-diagnosed kiddos as well that just need a little support.

It takes a special person to work with neurodivergent kids and adolescents so if you find yourself as a fun loving, energetic, curious, creative, compassionate, empathetic and above all PLAYFUL person contact me and we will go from there!

This is a flexible position. You can choose your hours as you see fit for your schedule. You can take on as little as one case at at time or build up to a full time schedule. We have home cases and school cases as well. It is ok if you have other jobs concurring. Preferred 1 year of Floortime experience and/or training to be considered. At least a Bachelor degree in related field is required. Direct experience with Autism and related developmental diagnoses required.

This is a gig type job with the potential to get to full time. The job is an independent contractor position where you have more independence and freedom to choose cases as they work for you. Supervisors still oversee the cases, consult and supervise although.

At the end of the year you’d receive a 1099 tax form for your tax purposes but your regular check would not have taxes taken out. It’s not a W2 type of job. You are never technically “hired” you just take cases when and if you can! . We can get you more information on how a contractor works too if we speak further. Most therapists love and actually prefer this because they can be flexible, have other jobs, go to school etc…

Also, there is no physical location as the work is done in the home, school or in the community of the clients. This position does include driving in the LA area but the rates help offset the driving time. You’ll need a reliable car.

You’d build your own schedule in this position. Cases are offered to the therapists and the therapists respond if they can take them on. It’s meant to be a flexible position, take as many or as few cases as you’d like.

Most therapists start with a few cases and build into more cases. If you are open to drive and have wide open availability, more than likely, we get you quite a few hours to start off with. The locations are spread out throughout LA County such as the West side, Santa Monica, Eagle Rock, Mid City, Koreatown, Downey, Culver City, Pasadena, Glendale, La Verne, San Fernando Valley, Sherman Oaks, Calabasas etc.

It can sound unconventional, but for some this type of position works super well. No contact or lengthy on boarding to start up. We take on experienced people who can have a level of self management with cases, be reliable, remain clinically ethical and ultimately be loved by the families and schools they work with!
