Newly Opening Silverlake Ramen in Van Nuys Hiring Prep Cooks!

The prep cook is an essential part of the kitchen and at its’ core responsible for making sure the kitchen has what it needs to complete service. Completing the daily prep list and maintaining par levels are the primary duties followed by assist the KM with additional prep, backing up other stations in the kitchen, putting away and organizing deliveries, maintaining a clean and organized environment. In this position you must work quickly, efficiently, and consistently. The goal of this position is to finish the list ahead of scheduled time to be able to learn the other steps by backing up other stations within the kitchen. The ideal candidate will be hardworking and reliable with strong knife skills and basic cooking knowledge.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to

• Follow prep lists and meet par levels

• Be sure all product is properly stored and labeled using proper FIFO methods

• Putting away and organizing deliveries

• Maintain integrity of food by following recipes

• Keep cooler and prep areas organized

• Perform basic cooking tasks • Prepare basic recipes • Avoid 86’s by communicating with Manager • Maintain health and sanitation standards

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

• Van Nuys, CA 91401: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

• Restaurant experience: 1 year (Preferred)
• Cooking: 1 year (Preferred)
