- Serves as the administrative head of the school in the absence of the principal.
- Administers a program of student discipline and interacts with students to encourage positive performance
- Assists with staff evaluations.
- Assists with managing the master student schedule.
- Supervises staff attendance and assignment of substitute teachers.
- Responsible for keeping student and teacher handbooks updated
- Supervisor of the Student Responsibility Room Staff.

- Special Education IEPC Administrator Designee
- Works with Counseling Department in establishing and administrating student intervention programs.

- Assists with coordinating building maintenance.

- Responsible for attendance incentives for students.

Summary:
Responsible for providing assistance to the Principal in the administration of the total school program. Administers student discipline assists with schedules, attendance, handbooks, and overall support of the Building Principal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises staff in the High School when the Principal is absent from the building.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:
Master's Degree in Education Leadership or Administration, minimum 5 years teaching and/or administrative experience at the secondary level.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Teaching Certificate and Michigan Secondary Administrator Certificate or meets the Administrator Certificate requirement in another way permitted by Revised School Code requirements of 380.1246.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies, or members of staff.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Must have basic computer skills. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
