What we do:
The Office of Employee Benefits (OEB) of the Federal Reserve System, located in Newark, N.J., comprises a staff of 68 professionals who oversee benefits programs throughout the Federal Reserve System. The OEB provides leadership in formulating Federal Reserve System employee benefits plans and assisting with the administration, implementation, communication, and education of these plans to approximately 80,000 active and retired participants and their beneficiaries.
The Health & Welfare team is comprised of 10 professionals who work closely with the benefit plan vendors and key stakeholders from the twelve regional Federal Reserve Banks to ensure the effective operations of the various plans administered. The team’s oversight extends to include the medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, wellness, disability, and personal protection plans, as well as the third-party benefits service and eligibility center vendor.
Your role as Health & Welfare Associate:
- Accountable for the day-to-day operations of one or more Health & Welfare benefits plans
- Manage and negotiate the relationship and service performance of outsourced administrators and insurance providers, including making recommendations for benefit plan and vendor improvements
- Serve as primary point of contact for outsourced service providers and service delivery managers
- Lead project teams in the evaluation of potential plan vendors
- Identify best practices, perform benchmark analysis and comparisons, and evaluate emerging trends
What we are looking for:
- Experience in a broad array of Health & Welfare benefit plans with an acute attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision to effectively manage projects and processes
- Advisor and influencer working across functions with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated success in navigating difficult, and somewhat complex challenges
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Salary Range: $112500 - $140600 / year
