Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership’s EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM has an exciting opportunity for an AREA MANAGER. Position is based in Norfolk, NE and will oversee the area school partnerships with the Head start Program. 40 hours per week M-F. Hourly wage plus full benefits.

JOB SUMMARY: The Area Manager is responsible for understanding and monitoring developmentally appropriate practices for preschoolers and family engagement of the Head Start Program, Education Partners. Maintain a system of tracking staff performance on a regular basis. Facilitate a process to help staff develop individual plans to improve their environments, teaching practices to support young children’s growth and development and overall program quality. Be the lead contact in specialty areas such as mental health as assigned. Submit checklists/observation reports to supervisor. Make monthly visits to each classroom to ensure children are appropriately supervised and engaged. Complete assigned observations and discuss results with each designated teacher. Review and evaluate lesson plans, family goals, observations, education calendars, documentation of home visits, Parent Teacher conferences, and other education records prepared by Teachers. Monitor Family Service Workers progress in conducting and documenting home visits, the Family Partnership Agreement, Family Service Outcomes, Health Screenings and other records prepared by the Family Service Worker. Assist and support staff in professional development. Attend and contribute to monthly Early Childhood management staff meetings. Maintain confidentiality of program participants and follow Program and Agency standards and policies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High School Graduate or GED and one of the following:

· Bachelor's or advanced degree in early childhood education

· Bachelor's or advanced degree and course work equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood Education with early education teaching experience.

WAGE & BENEFITS: Wage starting at $18.00 per hour, plus benefits. Education and experience will be considered and may increase the starting wage. Benefits include health, life, dental and vision insurance. Paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, EAP, 401K Retirement.
