Mary Help of Christians Catholic School in Parkland, FL has an opening for a qualified School Guidance Counselor, for the upcoming 2023 - 2024 school yearto assist students with personal, family, educational, and emotional issues and to collaborate with the administration, faculty, staff, and parents to address the students’ needs. The Guidance Counselor must fulfill all the duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

Qualifications:

· Required: Master’s degree in Guidance Counseling or related field.

· Florida Department of Education Professional Certificate in Guidance and Counseling, preferred.

· Works collaboratively with the ESE Coordinator.

· ESE Coordinator experience is a plus.

· Competency for analyzing/completing psychological-educational student evaluations.

· Able to maintain confidentiality of information learned in this position.

· Collaborative work style in relationship to administration, teachers, parents, and students.

· Prudence in making decisions in warranted circumstances.

· Ability to deal tactfully with students, personnel, family members, visitors, and the public.

· Good time management skills, including ability to manage several projects at the same time and to meet multiple deadlines with accuracy.

· School experience, preferred.

· Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.

· Excellent presentation skills with skill in use of instructional technologies.

· Good oral and written English-language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.

· Good oral Spanish-language communication skills preferred

· Must have a professional demeanor.

· Proficiency with Apple technologies just as iPad and proficiency in Canvas, Plus Portals, MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34,617.40 - $74,673.59 per year
