Huron Valley Steel is primarily engaged in assembling, breaking up, sorting and wholesale distribution of scrap and waste materials. The industry includes, auto wreckers engaged in dismantling automobiles for scrap.

Founded in 1961, Huron Valley Steel originally processed rejected and low grades of Ferrous scrap material and converted it into pig iron. As market conditions changed, and technology evolved the company saw the opportunity to process and separate non-ferrous metals derived from automobile shredders.

Today, Huron Valley Steel processes close to a billion pounds of non-ferrous material generated by automobile shredder operators on an annual basis. The metals recovered include: aluminum, copper, brass, zinc, and stainless steel. This metal, which in the past was sent to landfills, provides an economical alternative to extracting and processing metal bearings ores.

Headquartered in Trenton Michigan, Huron Valley Steel operates recovery and recycling facilities in Belleville, Michigan and Anniston, Alabama, both of which are ISO 9001:2015 certified. It also has a joint-venture operation with Fritz Enterprises, Inc., HVF West, located in Tucson, Arizona.

Responsibilities:

• General Labor
• Picking and sorting of scrap metals
• Must be comfortable bending, reaching, and lifting up to 20lbs consistently
• Must be able to stand up to 10 hours
• Cleaning areas when needed in a metals recycling plant, and various plant duties.

Qualifications:

• Must be available to work a Day or Afternoon shift
• Must be available for overtime
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

• Morning shift
• Night shift

• Belleville, MI 48111: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
