Job description
We are currently seeking a GE Smallworld Data Technician (GIS) for a Fully REMOTE opportunity based out of Denver, CO. This is for a temporary 6+ month assignment (with potential for extension or Conversion).
***Must be U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder to be considered**
Hours: Can sit anywhere in the U.S., but main hours will be 8AM – 5PM MST (they do have a little flexibility depending on time zone so should be close to regular hours)
Responsibilities/Technical Skills:
- Performs geographic and non-geographic data manipulation, management and analysis, cartography, and utilizes GIS processes using a variety of software environments.
- Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data and determine how best the information can be displayed using GIS.
- Enter new map data through use of GIS software using the principles of cartography including coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales.
- Working Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts such as spatial analysis, map projections, etc.
Technical Skills that would be helpful:
- Experience with GIS software or related (ArcGIS, ESRI, MapInfo etc.)
- SQL
- Data Analysis experience
- GE Small World
- Toad
- CAD
- FME
- Alteryx
- Experience with other Spatial Databases
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of Data Analysis experience
- Experience with GE Smallworld, or GIS other Spatial Databases
- SQL or other data analytics software would be helpful
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
