Gallatin Valley YMCA: Child Watch Associate

Job Title: Child Watch Associate

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 4-20 hrs./week during child watch operations

Reports to: Camps & Family Programs Director/Child Watch Lead, Pay Scale: $15.50 - $16.00/hr.

CHILD WATCH ASSOCIATE POSITION SUMMARY:

Child Watch Attendants provide a safe, caring, and enriching environment for members' children to enjoy while their parents use YMCA Facility. All Child Watch staff will be responsible for the overall successful day-to-day running of the Y Child Watch program and for high-quality childcare. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

CHILD WATCH ASSOCIATE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for the safety of the children, classroom, and all activities at all times.

2. Assures parents are signing in children properly and presenting identification.

3. Supervises and interacts with children at play.

4. Completes required cleaning and organizing of the Child Watch room to maintain program site and equipment.

5. Maintains required program records.

6. Builds positive relationships with members and children in the program.

CHILD WATCH ASSOCIATE QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
2. Previous experience working with children, preferably in a daycare/babysitting setting.
4. At least 16 years of age.
5. CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications before the start date.

CHILD WATCH ASSOCIATES PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to meet minimum requirements and perform functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to communicate clearly to all children, parents, members, and company personnel.
• Present a clean, well-groomed appearance.
• Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight.
• Occasionally must be able to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Frequently may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $16.00 per hour
