Job description

We are seeking a friendly, compassionate, and organized front desk check out person to join our team in the Bala Cynwyd office. The candidate must be a quick learner, use good judgment, and have great customer service skills. In this role, you will assist with patient check-in/out, insurance verification, patient scheduling, and other duties for the office. Must be available Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting visitors and patients to the clinic
  • Checks out patients in a timely, friendly manner- willing to jump in at check in if need be
  • Outstanding professional phone management skills: manages a multiline telephone system efficiently and politely, minimizing hold time
  • Comforts patients by answering any questions they may have
  • Obtains patient identification and insurance information
  • Maintains patient accounts by verifying insurance information and coordinating with relevant insurance websites for authorization purposes
  • Keeps doctor, nurses, medical assistants, and any other related staff abreast of scheduling, patient details, and potential service delay
  • Helps maintain office inventory; may place orders for office supplies and schedule service for office equipment repairs
  • Protects patients’ right of confidentiality; mandatory familiarity with HIPAA
  • Coordinates transportation for patients as needed
  • Schedules testing and procedures for patients as necessary
  • Helps respond to medical emergencies, if necessary

Experience

· One to two years' experience in a medical care office

Education

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent
