POSITION SUMMARY
The Operations Engineer (OE) is responsible for providing full technical support on site and lead flawless and safe job execution. The Operations Engineer leads technology implementations and cost savings initiatives, maintains excellent communications between NexTier's Digital Hub (NexHub)/office and wellsite field operations, oversee the Data Pump Operators/Field Engineers (DPO/FE), Field Engineer Trainees (FET) and participate in special projects as assigned.

Key Accountabilities
  • Coordinate with Sales rep, Digital Operations engineers, DPO/FE and discuss upcoming jobs requirements
  • Verify, review and confirm all proposals and completions procedures prior to starting the job
  • Verify bucket test, review all pre-job QA/QC lab testing and ensure all required chemicals and proppant are delivered to location prior to starting the job
  • Assist DPO’s/FE’s with job/data-van setup prior to starting pad
  • Support DPO’s & FE’s to ensure preventive maintenance (PM’s) and all necessary field maintenance is completed prior to start pumping a stage/job
  • Provide full engineering support for complex jobs, perform all pre/during-job required QA/QC testing and discuss results with on site customer reps and internal engineering team
  • Be prepared to run job from data-van in case of connectivity issues with NexHub
  • Monitor all internal and external deliverables from the NexHub, ensure quality and provide feedback
  • Assess Datavan Pump Operators and Field Engineers (DPO’s & FE’s) and FET’s and ensure competency
  • Address any technical questions or concerns from customers related to reservoirs, fluid systems or software’s. Supported by the District Engineer and engineering innovation center as needed
  • Manage chemical variance during job and coordinate chemical transfers between pad moves with supply chain
  • Utilize engineering principles to analyze and interpret data and conduct research to diagnose problems and develop appropriate solutions
  • Lead the rollout and implementation of new technology
  • Generate fleets KPI’s and identify areas for improvement to maximize operational efficiencies
  • Promote HSE values and perform job duties as per NexTier’s safety policy and standard operating procedures
  • Serve as a mentor for less experienced Operators and Engineers and provide leadership on location
  • Perform all other job duties assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Completion of assigned Frac EDP training is required
  • Able to analyze problems by considering alternatives, followed by the systematic rejection of unacceptable alternatives.

Minimum Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Required
Minimum Required Work Experience
  • Less than 2 years - Required
  • Minimum 18 Months of oilfield experience in well stimulation.
