3rd Shift Material Handlers (Unloading Trucks)
Shippers is looking for forklift operators for our 3rd shift (starts at 9pm to finished). Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years warehouse experience with experience on a stand-up forklift. Best workers demonstrate great sense of urgency and organization, also the ability to familiarize with the team and the product easily.
It's a physical job! If you have never worked in a warehouse environment before, you should understand that you will be on your feet for 90% - 95% of your shift. It also gets loud and the facilities are large. While we want everyone to feel comfortable, our ability to control the temperature in our warehouses is limited. Indoor warehouse working conditions are impacted by seasons and the weather.
Shift from 9pm till finish (typically 8hrs)
Must have at least one year with a stand-up forklift experience
Able to speak and communicate in English; (safety commands and warehouse terms).
Bilingual is a Plus
Frequent tasks:
Unload pallets and build pallets of individual cases (dead stack loads) from trailers, as well as collect empty pallet boards and carry them to storage.
Safely operate a standup forklift to unload and transport pallets to their location.
General housekeeping and specific sanitation tasks as required (you might be asked to sweep the floor, help clean a trailer, take out trash, etc.)
Lift objects that weigh anywhere between 15 and 50 lbs on a consistent basis.
Other warehouse duties and special projects as requested.
Must maintain good attendance.
Maintain safe work practices in the warehouse.
Maintain safeguards of confidential warehouse company information.
Receive and distribute product and assist in weekly product inventory
Hand unload and stack product: readjust product when off balance or in the wrong location.
Review documents and record information; verify quantity, identity, availability and condition of product.

General Responsibilities
Use voice pick technology to select orders.
- Strip trucks of empty carts, pallets and cardboard.
- Maintain productivity standards (cases per hour), while maintaining order picking accuracy.
- Transport, via carts or manual pallet jacks, the completed orders to appropriate staging area in the warehouse or load in truck/trailer.
- General housekeeping and specific sanitation tasks as required (you might be asked to sweep the floor, help clean a trailer, take out trash, etc.)

Qualifications
- A minimum of one (2) years of previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse atmosphere preferred.
- Minimum 1 year on stand up forklift experience required
- Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays as well as off shift.
- Basic math skills needed. Add, subtract, multiply, divide to verify quantities of product.
- Pallet jack (manual and electric) and forklift skills needed
- Must be able to read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
- Must be willing to work in an environment that has extreme temperatures, humidity, hazardous/loud equipment, and slippery surfaces.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Previous experience operating powered warehouse industrial equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.) required.
- Must have the ability to communicate well with team.
- Must be able to walk around the warehouse for long periods of times while pushing/pulling loaded carts/pallets.
- Must have the ability to follow safe warehouse working practices, as instructed.
- Must be a self-starter.
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Current forklift certification a plus
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
- Ability to work on feet and carry objects weighing more than 50 lbs
